Corey Christiansen grew up in a musical family. His father, Mike Christiansen, started teaching him guitar at the age of five. Corey spent a lot of his youth learning the guitar and music. After high school, Corey received his bachelor’s degree from USU. A year later Corey left for Tampa Florida to study with legendary jazz guitar educator, Jack Petersen. In 1999, Corey received his master’s degree from the University of South Florida and took over the teaching duties of Jack Petersen the next year.

Kara is a relationship educator from Allen, TX, and the owner of Verge Relationships, LLC. She earned her PhD in Family Studies from TWU and her master’s degree in dispute resolution from SMU.

After working for a time as a family mediator, helping couples divide up their assets and work out child custody arrangements, she knew she wanted to reach couples much earlier in the process, before they hit rough patches. After participating in premarital classes with her husband, she left her job in higher education to step into the nonprofit realm, focused on marriage and family strengthening. After that experience, Kara decided to pursue her PhD and simultaneously open her own business serving couples in 2014.

Born, raised and currently living in DFW TX, Jacob Smith is a local top call Acoustic and Electric Bass player.

From 2007-2011 He attended the University of North Texas and played in the prestigious One O’Clock Lab Band. From 2011-2013 he was a member of the late Bob Belden’s fusion group, Animation. He recorded the album “Transparent Heart” with them, and toured America, London and Spain. He also has performed with artists including Jimi Tunnell, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jimmy Cobb, Dennis Durick, Darcy James Argue, George Colligan, Stockton Helbing, Ed Soph, Ingrid Jensen, and more. Music has been his main drive and passion since the age of 9 and continues to motivate him daily in support of his family. He has studied with John Adams, Lynn Seaton, Dominique Di Piazza and Matthew Garrison.

Cody Garrett developed a curiosity and love for music when he began piano lessons at the age of six, and from then on strived to become educated in music history, theory, composition/arranging, improvisation, production, and business. Cody continued his academic education at the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where he studied music theory, composition, and piano performance. Desiring a greater understanding of contemporary styles, reharmonization, and music production, Cody attended Berklee College of Music as a scholarship recipient, where he completed the legendary harmony and arranging curriculum in two semesters.

Sasha Berliner is a musician, composer, producer, and band leader from San Francisco, CA.

Sasha started playing drums at eight years old. She pursued a jazz emphasis at her high school, Oakland School for the Arts, where she picked up the vibraphone at age 13. She is an alumni of the SF Jazz High School All Stars Orchestra and the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music. She headlined festivals like the Atlanta Jazz Festival, NYC Winter Jazz Festival, and the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, by the age of 19.
